75 Dr. Del Millers – How to Energize Your Passion

75 Dr. Del Millers – How to Energize Your Passion

As the seasons change and it gets darker much earlier, our energies change with it. Do you feel it? I definitely do: I feel compelled to rest and hibernate a little bit during the winter months. But I also take this time to look at the things in my life that give me energy, like working out and spending time with loved ones. Balancing your energy is all about finding what lifts you up and what (and perhaps who) drains you. Through my 20s and 30s I was able to correct a lot of the energy leaks in my life and also look at the ones that were feeding me and energizing me. And so I made a lot of changes that allowed me to now live a more balanced life. I am so excited about my guest today, Dr. Del Millers, who has a new book out called Energize Your Life. Del and I have taken similar journeys in life, in that we both changed careers slightly later in life to get where we are today. Del is a master of the mind body connection, and his new book makes all the varied information out there about energy, truly accessible. Listen now to my interview with Del and discover why you must feed your passions and how to create your purpose! 74 De-Stress the Holiday Mess 2016

74 De-Stress the Holiday Mess 2016

Well folks, we are well underway in the holiday season! Last Thursday was Thanksgiving, and for some it was a lovely evening spent with turkey, gluten free stuffing and snow on the ground, but for many out there, the holiday (as is with most holidays) was less than pleasant or downright painful.  If you dread November and December every year, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Around this time of year, there are higher than normal family expectations and obligations which can equal stress, pain, and anxiety for so many people. And even when you enjoy spending time with your family, the holidays can remind us of those we’ve lost. Among all the cooking, hiking and eating with my family this Thanksgiving, there was a sadness present as my niece, Lauren, was not there with us. Lauren died in a car accident earlier this year and my family is still mourning and figuring out how to be us without her. So today I’m sharing with you 6 ideas to help you have a more festive holiday season. Take a moment, right now, to decide how you want to feel this holiday season, instead of just letting it happen to you. I want to help you do more then just get through. Taking care of your own needs and desires while honoring exactly how you feel (regardless of how others might want you to feel) is a good start. Listen now to hear how you can make this holiday season what you need it to be. You can Subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, SoundCloud, Stitcher or TuneIn   “Instead of...

73 Vasavi Kumar – Living Between Two Worlds

I’ve always been interested in how ethnicity impacts the way people are in the world. I’ve observed clients and friends from strict cultures with very defined family roles, especially for women, struggle with integrating the traditional and modern parts of themselves. With this in mind, in today’s episode I’m diving into managing parental approval, and how to balance individual identity with family (aka tribe) identity. Today’s guest, Vasavi Kumar is a kick-in-your-pants life coach, with a solid media presence and a robust, in-your-face brand. She and I would see each other occasionally at events and connect over what was happening in the world of coaching, and then last year she just disappeared. Today, she and I are talking about what happened in her life that inspired her to shut down her business and take a break from it all. It came down to not offending her parents, her culture, and her family or not abandoning herself. I think you’ll find her story compelling and maybe even learn a thing or two about how to make difficult decisions that are aligned with your soul. You can Subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, SoundCloud, Stitcher or TuneIn   “Eventually I think the needing to keep up and the needing to fit in prevailed over taking that time to go inwards and asking myself who am I?” – Vasavi Kumar Show Notes: Why Vasavi took a break from her life The influence of Indian culture on Vasavi’s life Why you can’t act from fear Why you have to get rid of whatever doesn’t make you feel good How to find comfort within...

72 Colette Baron-Reid – Journeying Through Uncharted Waters

What do you think about your power to manifest things in your life? Do you feel like you’re in the driver’s seat or like life is happening to you? I believe that we are all co-creating our lives right this second, whether we’re doing it consciously or on autopilot. If your life is on autopilot, your inaction is indeed a kind of action. There is something that happens (aka life) when you don’t decide, when you don’t change your focus from what’s not working to what will. Rather than allowing your life to happen TO you, why not manifest every minute of it? I am a firm believer in the law of attraction, and using it with intention. I consciously hold gratitude for the good things in my life and I know this puts me in an energetic frequency to attract more things for which to be grateful. All of this brings me to today’s guest, Colette Baron-Reid. She’s an internationally acclaimed psychic medium, a thought leader, bestselling author of The Map, a recording artist, and host of the TV series, Messages From Spiritas, as well as The Adventures of the Motorcycle Medium. One of the things I love most about Colette, and you know this if you follow her on social media, is that she loves her life and she lives out loud. Colette’s newest book is yet another reflection of her beautiful life. The book, Uncharted, is all about co-creating with Spirit in our lives, so that we can journey through the uncertainty into infinite possibility with intention and the power to manifest our desires. I think...

71 Lisa Lampanelli – Stuffed with Feelings

We all have some experience or struggle that creates our biggest challenge in life. Whether it’s a significant loss or the need to overcome some form of addiction, it takes effort and stamina to keep working on it. Allowing yourself to be honest and vulnerable about your struggle can be a brave and worthwhile journey, one that my friend, Lisa Lampanelli shares courageously in her most recent off-broadway show, Stuffed, which documents her life-long battle with her body. I’m excited to share this special interview with Lisa, who as many of you know, is a comedian best known for being a guest on Comedy Central Roasts and for her many standup acts. Last year Lisa was nominated for a Grammy for a standup special, Back to the Drawing Board. In our conversation we break down what happens emotionally when you take away this substance that you’ve been using to numb your feelings, and all the many life experiences that inspired her to write this show. I think you’re really going to enjoy my funny but deep conversation with Lisa Lampanelli.   You can Subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, SoundCloud, Stitcher or TuneIn   “It’s really interesting that you just follow your gut and you keep going the right direction and it just works out.” – Lisa Lampanelli Show Notes: What inspired Lisa’s show Stuffed How Lisa decided to have weight loss surgery Why you have to deal with your feelings How surgery impacted Lisa’s relationships Lisa’s new approach to romantic relationships Why you have to learn to love the journey “I had to learn to feel my feelings instead...
